Best 3 WWE and AEW all-time stars

Professional wrestling latest news and results? After wasting time in WCW, Austin went to WWE where he was given a new lease on life. His “Stone Cold” character unleashed a can of whoop-ass on the American community and skyrocketed the WWE into a billion-dollar business. During his popular run, Austin’s t-shirts outsold other wrestling products 4-to-1. He was also a bonafide rating bonanza, helping WWE Raw take over the lead from rival WCW Nitro. Truly a champion, he deserves the No.2 spot Greatest Wrestlers on our list.

Kia Stevens, also known as Awesome Kong, is not only a veteran wrestler but an actor too. Fans may recognize her from Netflix’s GLOW, a wrestling dramedy about the 1980’s promotion, the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. On the show, Stevens played Tammé Dawson, a Black woman who is forced to reckon with her cliched gimmick, the Welfare Queen. In the show’s third season, Tammé struggles with back pain, turning to drugs and alcohol to keep her career from falling apart. Stevens has praised the show for its realistic portrayal of both the emotional and physical perils of professional wrestling. Awesome Kong made a big splash when she debuted on AEW, but she has since had limited appearances due to her GLOW filming schedule and her own real-life injuries. Although she hasn’t retired quite yet, she plays an important role backstage as a coach and producer for the women’s division.

Sumo, a Japanese belt-wrestling style, was a popular spectator sport under imperial patronage (710–1185). Originally a submission spectacle, sumo became highly ritualized as a toppling match with victory coming also from the forcing of an opponent out of a 12-foot (4-metre) circle. By the 17th century sumo wrestling had became a professional sport in Japan. From the samurai martial art jujitsu, judo, the other prominent Japanese wrestling style, was derived in the 19th century and became an international sport in the second half of the 20th century.

It’s tough to keep winning streaks alive in today’s WWE. Except for Asuka’s incredible 914-day undefeated streak and Undertaker’s legendary streak at WrestleMania, there haven’t been too many impressive undefeated streaks to talk about in WWE, recently. Therefore, it’s impressive that Adam Cole did not take a pin in WWE for over a year. Before Keith Lee ended his run as NXT Champion, Adam Cole hadn’t lost a singles match via pinfall since winning the title at NXT Takeover XXV. Cole only suffered two DQ losses in his run as champion. Similar to Cole’s run, Becky Lynch, who wrestled her last match at WrestleMania 36, hadn’t had a loss via pinfall since losing to Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Money In The Bank in May, 2019. After losing to Flair, Lynch only suffered one loss in singles matches (via disqualification). The DQ loss came against Sasha Banks at Clash of Champions 2019. Read extra details on WWE Stars news.

Often regarded as one of the best professional wrestlers of all time, the 2000s represented the rebirth of HBK following a highly-publicised battle with addiction. Michaels overcame a career-threatening back injury to emerge from his first retirement for a feud with real-life best friend Triple H back in 2002. The HeartBreak Kid went on to enjoy memorable rivalries with Chris Jericho and John Cena while he also reformed D-Generation X. Yet perhaps his most notable contribution of the decade remains his successive WrestleMania match of the year clashes against The Undertaker that led to his second retirement from the ring.
